BREAD PUDDING
Some people will do anything to avoid bread pudding, but this is one version that you will make over and over and it will quickly disappear from your table. In fact, when my family was all home I had to double the recipe to satisfy them. The recipe came to me from my pie baking brother-in-law and is probably at least 60 years old. Try it . You will like it !
BREAD PUDDING
- 4 cups soft bread crumbs
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ cup raisins
- 2 med apples, peeled and cut in small cubes
Mix bread cubes, raisins. apples. Place in baking dish. Mix sugar, eggs, cinnamon. Pour over bread. Scald milk with butter till hot not boiling, then pour over all. Sprinkle some cinnamon over top.
Bake at 350 for 40 miin.
