Latex allergies are becoming more prevalent.
CRYSTAL HEALING AND LATEX ALLERGY
About nine months ago my daughter had a sore big toe. So what, you say? Well the red flag went up and we were all very concerned. She is diabetic, but in addition to that, she also has a very severe latex allergy which she acquired while working as an R.N. in the Intensive Care Unit at the local hospital. The climax of her allergy resulted in her having anaphylactic reactions three times in two days, to the point she nearly died. That came from years of using latex gloves and equipment, and culminated after having eaten a lunch in the cafeteria that was prepared with rubber gloves. That happened some twenty years ago.
At the time she and her husband thoroughly researched what foods were safe for her to eat and where she could go. That research is still going on today. Unfortunately, she is on a very limited diet and her home is the only safe place to be. You might say she is a prisoner in her own home. She has been absent from her kids graduations and weddings, from her father’s and husband’s funerals.
Back to the problem of the painful, throbbing, infected toe. The total care she received was the few antibiotics she could take and a home visit from the local doctor on a few occasions.
The toe grew steadily worse, going from an infected draining area on the bottom of her toe to a second area on the top of her toe, which was now at least three times its normal size. It involved daily soaks and debriding the dead skin around the infected area. About a month ago the bottom had finally closed but the area in the top had smelly drainage and it looked as though she could lose her toenail. Her latex allergy prevented her from being able to get help at any hospital, have any x-ray. or any wound treatment because No one could offer her safe treatment because they were not latex free. One foot doctor finally came to see her and said he would be back in about a week and he would be looking into portable x-ray and would, at that time, take a wound culture. We’re still waiting on any of that. Our questions about any potential surgery hung in the air, and the possibility of gangrene lingered.
My oldest daughter began looking into crystal healing as a last resort. She found some interesting methods, largely poo-pooed by traditional medicine. Feeling there was nothing to lose, and already used to doing her own research, my affected daughter saw information about a crystal described as an infection healer, specifically for the foot, so she ordered an African Jade, which incidentally arrived in the shape of a small foot. She began taping the stone on top of her other bandage. What transpired seemed a miracle. In one month her top wound had closed, the drainage gone, and the size of her toe, was nearly normal. After nine months of hopeless suffering!
We are so grateful, so thankful, that there was an alternative to traditional medicine. But one problem still exists. That is the need for treatment, testing, even surgery where it may be needed. Latex allergy is increasing. Recently we heard of a three year old who was affected. There are other people in the medical profession who live with the condition, besides there are countless others.
The latex companies left out a necessary washing step when universal precautions started around the AIDS epidemic. They realized there were more latex allergies because of the change in procedure because it left more loose protein molecules on the gloves. When they realized this, they went to the federal government who gave the glove companies immunity, which meant they did not have to take any responsibility. They continued their practice without the washing step. Since then there are over 15 million people in the USA with varying forms of this allergy. The CDC has called latex, the asbestos of the 90’s. When will the government stop turning their backs on a real need in this country?
Not one of us would want to live as my daughter has for over 20 years, missing out on all the important functions and things we consider normal.
