WAFFLES
Most people enjoy waffles for breakfast but they are versatile for different times of the day. For instance they can be used as a snack or dessert with a fruit sauce, or as a luncheon or dinner with a chicken or other meat in a delicious gravy, or served simply with butter and powdered sugar any time. The choice is yours.
WAFFLES
Sift together:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- Combine:
- 2 egg yolks well beaten
- 1 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup oil
- Add to dry ingredients and beat til free of lumps.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake on hot waffle iron until steam stops.
