This hard candy is delicious and the flavor last a long time.

MOGHY

Most people have never heard of this delicious  PA Dutch candy. A candied apple is a similar taste but nothing compares to cracking a freshly made and cooled pan into bite size pieces and enjoying the molasses flavor  that lasts a long time. Try it. You will like it. Be sure to give it the hard ball test to keep it from getting gummy.

 

MOGHY

PA DUTCH MOLASSES CANDY

  • 1 pint jar Turkey syrup
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. butter.

Cook first two ingredients to hard boil stage. (When dropped by a very small amount into cold water it forms a hard ball.) Stir in vanilla and butter.  Immediately pour  into a buttered pan. Allow to cool before turning out and cracking into small pieces.
