RECIPES FROM THE PAST: HAM AND BROCCOLI CASSEROLE

A quick, easy dish that can be adjusted to the number of people it serves.

                                  HAM AND BROCCOLI CASSEROLE

Somewhere along the line of cooking the word ‘casserole’ came to  have a ‘bad’ name. I guess we don’t want to associate it with mixed up iongredients, but most of the foods we eat are in the category of casseroles, whether it is lasagna or any dish that contains more than  one ingredient. Think about it! Ham and broccoli is an easy dish that provides protein and vegetable in one dish. Add a salad or some muffins, or rolls, and you have a quick, inexpensive meal, about 60 years in  the enjoyment .

Ham and Broccoli Casserole

  • 6 slices boiled ham
  • 1 pkg. broccoli spears cooked
  • long style Swiss cheese, cut into strips
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 Tbsp sour cream                        serves 6

Place broccoli spear and strip of cheese on slice of ham and roll up.

Put in casserole dish and cover with soup mixed with milk and sour cream. Sprinkle with paprika or parsley flakes.

Bake at 350 until heated through.
