RECIPES FROM THE PAST: CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

A great meal anytime.

                                              CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

Anyone suffering from a cold or similar ailment can hear the advice of having some chicken soup to cure their ills. I’m sure this is not just a myth. There is something comforting about a steaming bowl of soup to make you feel cared for. I’ve often added some mixed vegetables and a plate of rolls or fresh bread to complement the meal.

CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

  •  Chicken pieces, at least a pound
  • 1 Package noodles, any width desired.
  • Salt
  • 1 onion, chopped

In large pot of water cook chicken until tender and remove  from broth, also remove skin and bones, cutting chicken into  small pieces and reserve until later. Season with onions, and any other seasoning while the chicken is cooking.  Add noodles and cook according to pack directions. When they are done  add chicken pieces.  While noodles are cooking , if you desire add a pack of frozen vegetables.
