RECIPES FROM THE PAST: AUNT MAGGIE’S SUGAR BISCUITS

Good for dessert or snacking.

                                AUNT MAGGIE’S SUGAR BISCUITS

This recipe came from my aunt and must be at least 70 years old.  She taught me about life and about good food. It was a very pleasant time in my life. What makes this recipe so good is the knowledge that there are no preservatives or salt. Other than that,  the ‘biscuits’ are delicious.  Enjoy!

 

AUNT MAGGIE’S SUGAR BISCUITS

  • 2 cups sugar
  • vanilla
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ tsp cream of  tartar
  • 4 cups flour

Cream sugar and butter. Mix in eggs, add all dry ingredients.

Bake at 375 10 min or until brown.

*Chill dough for rolled cookies.
